Philosophy
A healthy body is an attractive body
Many people believe that all it takes to have an attractive body is to lose weight. In reality, the best looking bodies are the ones that are the healthiest. This is true not only for humans, but also all across the animal kingdom.
The most beautiful people in the world share many of the same qualities; glowing, blemish-free skin, healthy body proportions with the ideal proportion of muscle and fat, thick, shiny and strong hair, healthy teeth and nails, and above all, free of disease. No one hears the word diabetes and thinks – sexy.
We believe that the capacity to have a healthy, attractive body is inside of every person.
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure
According to the Centers for Disease Control 70 percent of Americans will die from chronic diseases, like heart disease, stroke, obesity, and cancer. Fortunately chronic diseases are preventable with diet and lifestyle changes. Our plans are tailored to address your needs as well as the chronic diseases which you may be at risk of developing.
We look at the big picture
Oftentimes the problem is not a lack of food knowledge but rather a set of unhealthy behaviors that are sabotaging your progress toward reaching your goals. This is why, in addition to nutrition, we address many other issues such as social triggers, meal timing, emotional reactions, and seasonal variations.
There are many paths to wellness
We believe that each person is unique with different careers, traditions, relationships, passions, and dislikes. These differences require that everyone follow a unique path to find wellness. This is why our programs are tailored to fit the distinct characteristics of each individual and our programs change and adapt as the client changes. We believe that wellness is a multistep process and that what works for one person may not work for another.
The goal is self-sufficiency not dependence
While we believe each person has within themselves the capacity for health, we know that not everyone has the knowledge and self-guidance to summon it. Our services address these needs but our ultimate goal is for each client to eventually gain the skills to continue their wellness journey independently. We feel that it would be unethical and unrealistic to conduct a program that never ends.
